Get valuable feedback on your book before it's published
Invite the readers you trust. They read your manuscript on any phone or computer and leave notes, and you see them all in one place. Free.
What you can count on
It's free
Galleyleaf costs nothing, and neither does the space it uses in your Google account. You never enter a card, and there's no trial that runs out.
You decide who reads it
Readers sign in with Google before they can open the book, so you see exactly who has. Share the address with the people you trust, and remove anyone's access with one click, whenever you like.
Your manuscript stays in your Google account
The book, your readers and their notes are kept in a Google project that belongs to you, not to Galleyleaf. Galleyleaf never gets a copy. The text isn't on the public web, search engines can't see it, and readers can't copy or print it from the page. What is a Google project?
How it works
-
Set up your site
Sign in with Google and follow the setup page. It builds your book's website for you, step by step. There's nothing to install and nothing technical to learn.
-
Add your manuscript
Upload your Word file on your site's admin page, and check the chapters look right. When you revise, upload it again.
-
Share it with your readers
Send them your site's address. They read on any phone, tablet or computer and tap a paragraph to leave a note. Each note is private between that reader and you, and you can read them by chapter or by reader.
What it looks like
For your readers
-
Their place is kept
They pick up where they stopped, and see which chapters they've finished.
-
Easy to read on a phone
A paragraph at a time or the whole chapter, in the text size they like.
-
A note on any paragraph
Only that reader and you can see what they write.
-
On to the next chapter
When they finish one, the next is a tap away.
For you
Your site's admin pages, which only you can open.
-
Publish from your Word file
Choose the file and it's split into chapters. Upload it again when you revise.
-
Every note in one place
Read them by chapter or by reader, and open the paragraph each one is about.
Ready when your draft is
All you need is a Google account and your manuscript. The setup page walks you through the rest.
